Brewer Studio Architects Brings a Holistic Approach to Architectural Design

My work falls into the broad categories of urban landscapes, renovations, and green homes. I embrace green architecture as a whole systems process that integrates site, sun, materials and technology. My energy-efficient designs maximize the use of space and take advantage of local materials and products made with renewable resources.

Every design begins with observation...
Who inhabits this place? A shady creek, home to ferns and frogs, a large pine tree visited by crows, a noisy road, a neighbor's window... Where does the sun first hit this piece of land and where does it set? How does all this change throughout the year? How can a new structure function in harmony with its landscape? How can it mitigate challenges and create something totally new and inspiring?

As an architect I am deeply moved and inspired by the pattern of ridges, basins and watersheds that define the San Francisco Bay Area. As a member of this community, my work is anchored within the context of this particular landscape.

Whether they be homes, developments or landscapes, I design spaces that encourage awareness of what's around us and expand our sense of connection - to each other and to the natural environment.
